Al Johnson is an Investigator with the Office of the Juvenile Defender in Maricopa County. Prior to that he worked in Criminal Investigations with the Oregon State Police and was a Detective before becoming Chief of Police at the Oakridge Police Department. Al has specialized in instructing Hate and Bias Crimes (teaching other officers how to identify Hate/Bias crimes and how to investigate them as such and teaching the history of specific hate groups and what they stood for), Interrogation and Interviewing Techniques, Interpreting Body Language, Search and Seizure, and Criminal Law. He was voted Most Inspirational by the Oregon State Police Academy and has won Life Saving and Officer of the Year awards.
