Who We Are

We are a diverse group of more than 120 romance writers affiliated with the national Romance Writers of America^® organization. Desert Rose encourages all our members through each stage of the genre-writing career. We have new writers at work on a first manuscript. We have several New York Times best selling authors. We have writers at every stage in between and we embrace each and every author. Members of Desert Rose must also be members of RWA national organization.

Guests are welcome to attend up to two meetings. To become a member of Desert Rose, you must first be a member of Romance Writers of America®. Information about Desert Rose and RWA^® membership is available HERE.

What We Do

Desert Rose holds a monthly meeting, publishes a monthly newsletter and works with our sister chapter, Valley of the Sun RWA^®, to bring events to readers and writers throughout the year. Each year, we sponsor the Golden Quill contest for published authors and we host Desert Dreams, one of RWA^®'s biggest regional conferences, every other year.

Desert Rose Award

Once again, it's time to nominate people who deserve special recognition for everything they've done to benefit Desert Rose.

The nominees can be active in high-profile positions or behind the scenes. The only requirements are that they do a lot for the chapter, have belonged for at least three years, and haven't already won. Click HERE to vote!
