Presentation Title: “Tips and Tricks of Researching and Writing True Crime: A Real ‘How’ Dunnit”

Kerrie Droban is a criminal defense attorney and the award-winning author of five best-selling true crime books. Her book, Vagos, Mongols, and Outlaws: My Infiltration of America’s Deadliest Biker Gangs was made into a TV series, “Gangland Undercover,” initially produced by A&E and renewed for a second season on The History Channel. With numerous appearances and interviews on national television and radio shows, Kerrie has established herself as an expert on motorcycle gangs and the pathology of the criminal mind.

Presentation Description: True crime author Kerrie Droban will offer tips and tricks for researching true crime (or adding realism to works of fiction) using her book A Socialite Scorned as a framework. A Socialite Scorned is a case study of an investigation that spanned a decade, involved multiple law enforcement agencies across several states, and even included extradition from Austria!
