Mary AltmanMary Altman – Source Books


Bio: Mary Altman discovered Romance in the 4th grade, when her best friend smuggled a copy of A Knight in Shining Armor to the lunchroom, and she’s been a convert ever since. She started her post-college life studying law before coming to her senses and settling happily in a decade-long editorial career. She has a passion for travel and lives outside of Chicago with her fiancé.

Acquiring: all subgenres of Romance including young adult, urban fantasy and science fiction/fantasy

Not acquiring: Women’s fiction, nonfiction, literary, middle grade

Gail DelanyGail Delaney – Desert Breeze Publishing


Bio: Gail R. Delaney, editor in chief of Desert Breeze Publishing, has been writing for publication since 1996. She has several novels published in contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and futuristic romance. Her novels have received several awards since she was first published in 2005. Gail and her family moved from the blustery east coast to Southern California, and enjoy every moment of sunshine they can.

Acquiring: most romance sub-genres, women's fiction, young adult, and new adult fiction

Not acquiring: erotica, erotic romance, or GLBT

Michelle KlaymanMichelle Klayman – Boroughs Publishing Group


Bio: A seasoned executive with a 20-year career as both a writer and attorney, Michelle Klayman has extensive experience in publishing, having written Romance novels and worked as an editor. She has a post-doctoral degree in International Law and has worked as a federal civil rights and labor and employment law litigator. She has been reading Romance novels since law school and knows the genre by heart.

Acquiring: women’s fiction, Chick Lit, historical, fantasy, new adult, young adult, LGBTQ+, and multi-cultural.

Not acquiring: inspirational

Valerie MannVal Mann – Decadent Publishing


Bio: Co-owner of Decadent Publishing, Valerie is a published author and edits all genre of fiction, including several books that have been on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists.

Acquiring: We are only accepting romance fiction submissions at this time. Romance submissions can be sweet to smoking hot. Sexual or sensual scenes should enhance, not BE, the story. 

Renee NyenRenee Nyen – KT Literary (YA Panel)


Bio: Several years in the editorial department at Random House’s Colorado division provided Renee with the opportunity to work with bestselling and debut authors alike. After leaving Random House, she came to KT Literary in early 2013. She loves digging into manuscripts and helping the author shape the best story possible. She makes her home in Arizona with her husband, and their two children.

Acquiring: YA and middle grade fiction (the agency does represent fantasy, science fiction, romance, erotica, and fiction).

Rhonda PendersRhonda Penders – Wild Rose Press


Bio: Rhonda Penders’ writing background includes everything from small town newspaper reporting to writing confessionals.  She has several full length novels and short stories published under the pen name Roni Adams.  Penders lives in Upstate New York with her husband of thirty years.  They are the parents to three grown sons and are trying to adjust to the dreaded empty nest.

Acquiring: mainstream fiction and romance, historical fiction, science fiction, erotica, thrillers, cozy mysteries, suspense, sweet romance, contemporary romance, erotic romance, paranormal


Megan Long – Harlequin


Megan Long is an associate editor. She joined Harlequin as a proofreader in 2005 and moved to editorial a year later. She has worked on Superromance, Western Romance and Heartwarming, along with other projects for the serialization team. The best part of her job is discovering strong new voices to add to Harlequin’s author family.

Acquiring: Megan can accept submissions for all Harlequin lines.

Melissa SingerMelissa Singer – Tor


Bio: Melissa Ann Singer has worked at Tor/Forge for more than thirty years. She is a Senior Editor and Manager of Editorial Operations. Primarily an editor of category fiction, she is most interested in horror, thrillers and suspense fiction (including domestic suspense), historical fiction, and contemporary women’s fiction where the main characters are older than 35. She is very interested in non-traditional settings, diverse characters, and under-represented voices.

Acquiring: Stories where the non-romance plot is the story engine. Specific genres, in no particular order include fantasy, horror, historical, police procedural & crime, mystery, thrillers, disaster fiction (natural or man-made)

Kate RichardsKate Richards – Decadent Publishing


Bio: Co-owner of Decadent Publishing and a USA Today bestselling author, Kate has a degree in English and education from USC. She is a published author, and edits as well as handling formatting and uploading for Wizards in Publishing.

Acquiring: We are only accepting romance fiction submissions at this time. Romance submissions can be sweet to smoking hot. Sexual or sensual scenes should enhance, not BE, the story. 

Lance TauboldLance Taubold – 13Thirty Books


Bio: Lance Taubold is the recipient of the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award for Best First Non-Fiction. His first novel, Ripper, A Love Story, written with author Richard Devin, was published summer 2013. He has been published in the Never Fear anthologies with Heather Graham, F. Paul Wilson, Thomas Monteleone, Erin McCarthy, and Michael Stackpole, and is currently writing a paranormal romance series with New York Times Bestselling author Heather Graham.

Acquiring: 13Thirty is a writer-founded publishing house which utilizes the digital marketplace and print on demand.
