The Many Benefits of Joining our Organization:

Monthly Meetings

Besides the opportunity of meeting other writers, each meeting features a mini-program on a craft topic and a main program. Our speakers include nationally recognized authors like Linda Lael Miller, Eileen Dryer, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Bobbi Smith and Robin Lee Hatcher (to name a few) as well as industry professionals including police officers, FBI agents, trauma nurses, publishers, editors, tax consultants and many more.

Mentor Program

For a nominal fee, our mentor program matches unpublished members with a published author in the same genre who will critique a synopsis of three chapters, of a work in progress – real feedback that is invaluable!

Workshops and Retreats

Periodically, Desert Rose offers either all-day workshops or weekend writers’ retreats. Speakers have included Suzanne Brockmann, Debra Dixon, Carly Phillips and Vicky Lewis Thompson.
